Nicki has Bone Cancer and Needs Your Help!

Nicki, an 8 year old Beagle is being treated by Dr. Cecil in Mt. Washington for bone cancer.   She has had two surgeries to remove two different tumors but now another one has popped up in the same spot.  The tumor which was originally thought a mammory tumor but is actually a bone tumor next to her rib needs to be removed and removed soon.  Nicki's mom has already spent over $2,300.00 trying to save Nicki and needs your help in seeing she gets this surgery.  Nicki has been receiving a treatment called neoplasene and it is showing some success.  The treatment even with successful surgery and no more tumors, will be for the rest of her life.   Dr. Cecil, is working with Dr. Terrance Fox, the creator of this treatment.  Dr. Cecil and Dr. Fox are very optimistic and feels Nicki can be saved.

This little girl is a fighter and is not ready to give up.  Please don't let everything she has been through be in vain.  Please help Nicki receive this surgery!

LOW COST   SPAY AND NEUTER COMES TO BULLITT COUNTY!

HOPE for Pets, through a partnership with the Kentucky Humane Society (KHS), is offering a proactive solution to the pet overpopulation crisis in Bullitt County.

The new KHS “S.N.I.P. Clinic” opened February 5, 2007.  The facility, located at 2445 Crittenden Drive, is dedicated entirely to spay/neuter efforts for members of the community who otherwise could not afford to sterilize their pets. HOPE for Pets, as a Regional Transport Partner for the Kentucky Humane Society,  helps provide affordable spay/neuter surgeries and will assist in the scheduling and transport of owned pets.  HOPE for Pets provides this service on the fourth Thursday of each month.  County licenses are also available to purchase.

To find out more about our Regional Transport Partnership Program and the S.N.I.P. Program, click here.

To insure safe transport of the pets, we are in need of  the hard plastic "airline" style carriers.  If you would like to donate a carrier or the money to purchase one,  please email or call us at the number listed below.  All donations are appreciated!

For questions, to see if you qualify or to schedule an appointment,  call (502) 955-3586 or email SpayNeuter@hopeforpets.org.  A volunteer will return your call within 24 hours.

Why spay and neuter your pets?  The Kentucky Humane Society says it best, they’re just not going to do it themselves.

We Need Your Help!

We are very proud to be given the opportunity to serve the residents of our community and their pets.  We can not however do this without your help!  If you would like to donate to support or help implement one of our programs, please click here:

ALL donations are Tax Deductible

If you prefer not to donate on-line, click here for a printable donation form.

Just as important, we are also in need of volunteers.  Regardless of the amount of time you have to give, there is always something for someone to do!  We appreciate, the animals appreciate and our residents appreciate every minute!  Please click below if you would like to volunteer for HOPE for Pets.

YES, I would like to volunteer!
